LOCATION
South Costa Blanca & North Costa Calida
Costa Blanca means white coast, a name taken from the endless miles of beautiful
sandy beaches which stretch either side of the popular tourist resort of Torrevieja.
It is well known as having some of the best beaches in Spain and boasts more blue
flags than any other coastline in Europe.
The region offers all things to all people. This is a paradise for golfers and gourmets,
sun worshippers, families and party people.
As well as the numerous beach-side resorts, there are delightful towns to explore
& mountain villages where life seems hardly to have changed for centuries.
Torrevieja
Torrevieja with its Marina, tourist attractions, night life and excellent shopping
is conveniently situated less than 15 minutes away. It has a friendly and cheerful
character which helps visitors feel welcome and comfortable.
Among Torrevieja’s welcoming and attractive features are the many magnificent white
beaches, squares, walks, parks, gardens, and natural beauty spots. An all-year round
town, Torrevieja has its own harbour and small fishing fleet. There are excellent
facilities in the town and surrounding areas - not least the countless superb restaurants,
tapas bars, and shops.
Near the marina and port are superb fish restaurants specialising in the catch of
the day. There is also a wonderful indoor market which offers a tremendous selection
of fish, fruit, meat and vegetables throughout the year.
There are beautiful fountains, plazas and historic churches and promenades throughout
the town to provide cultural interest. The wooden benches and lighting along the
seafront and man-made lagoons for swimming in the summer months make the promenade
a very favourite spot.
A causeway between the sea and the harbour has proved immensely popular with residents
and visitors alike providing a fantastic stroll with an uninterrupted view of the
sea.
Torrevieja International Marina has excellent attractions with a restaurant, shops
and other services for marine sports. Torrevieja is the home port of the largest
fleet of sailing boats in the Mediterranean. Today the esteemed Real Club Nautico
of Torrevieja & Puerto Deportivo Marina holds in excess of 1500 mooring places of
high quality.
For nature lovers, there is the protected reserve of the lagoons of La Mata and Torrevieja
known as Las Salinas, the salt flats which date back to the 12th century and which
is the habitat for numerous protected species of bird such as the greater Flamingo
and Montague's harrier. The commercial salt flats also provide the main industry
for the town - the mining of salt. These are the two biggest salt lakes in Europe.
These lakes are extremely popular with people suffering from rheumatism, arthritis
or respiratory ailments or skin disorders and the salt lakes healing powers and the
warm climate are said to relieve the aches and pains.
There are 2 Aqua parks, and a large indoor sports centre with an Olympic sized swimming
pool to cater for the more energetic. Combined with the many water sports activities
and fitness centres, there is something here for every sports enthusiast. For those
who desire more leisurely activities, there is a multi-screen cinema complex together
with a ten-pin bowling alley alongside numerous bars, restaurants and clubs.
Terra Mitica is one of Europe's most exciting theme parks and is located near Benidorm
about 40 Km north of Alicante. It has something for all age groups and for all fear
thresholds.
Do not worry about going if you are not a fan of the adrenaline rush as there are
always plenty gentler options including some great water rides. To make sure that
younger children never feel left out the park has cleverly constructed 15 kiddie
rides which are replicas of the scarier adult version. All in all there is something
for everyone at Terra Mitica.
You can go on rides as many times as you wish but bear
in mind that there are so many rides that you will not be able to go on them all
in a day. In fact, time permitting, we would recommend that you purchase the two
day pass as there is more than enough at Terra Mitica to keep the whole family amused.
Terra
Mitica is split into five different sectors according to a particular theme. Each
of these areas have rides related to its particular theme and the restaurants in
the area are also based on that same theme. If you are too busy to sit down for a
full scale meal then there is no end of fast food outlets throughout the park.

Our Costa Blanca holiday apartment is ideally situated 40 minutes from Alicante airport
& 30 minutes from Murcia airport. Vistabella Golf is now open & is only 200m from
our apartment. Entre Naranjos is set amongst the orange and lemon groves in "Vista
Bella" (Beautiful views). There are views in one direction to the salt lakes, the
seaside town of Torrevieja & the sea beyond & in the other direction the golf course,
countryside & mountain ranges. It is ideal for those who prefer the quiet life, while
being located near all amenities. There are numerous Beaches & other Golf courses
close by.
There are a couple of café-bar-restaurants & shops on site & a new café-bar-restaurants
‘El Juglar Mudo’ & shop at the golf course. The small towns of Los Montesinos & San
Miguel are only 5 minutes drive and have all the major amenities, restaurants, bars
etc.
There are numerous seaside resorts with soft white sandy beaches to choose from,
only a short drive away, and delightful towns to explore & mountain villages where
life seems hardly to have changed for centuries.
A car is recommended to give you greater flexibility & access to the numerous local
facilities & all the attractions that this area offers. Alternatively, if you just
want to chill, British Taxi services are on site and airport transfers can be arranged.
