BEACHES
The Torrevieja beaches area some of the best (blue flag) beaches in the Mediterranean,
with everything for the active or for those who prefer the quieter life. We have
added information on some of the beaches below.
BEACHES
The warm Mediterranean Sea is crystal clear and calm. The fine white sand is one
of the main attractions for visitors. Most beaches provide entertainment areas for
children, volleyball fields, water slides, showers and cafes along the promenades
for refreshments. The climate and the beaches lend themselves to a variety of water
sports like water skiing, wind surfing and surfing. There are also quieter beaches
to enjoy, if you prefer the natural attraction of this fascinating coastline.
Playa del Cura also has the Blue Flag award. This beach has parking, Red Cross, children’s
park, water ski, taxi stand, promenade, bus stop, high quality restaurants, special
facilities for the handicapped, public phones, beach umbrellas and hammocks, cleaning
service and waste bins. You can practice beach sports like windsurf and watercycles.
El Acequión beach is located beside the harbour at Torrevieja it has the traditional
beach bars right on the edge of the sand.
La Mata beach is one of the largest and most visited beaches in the area. It is more
than 2 Km. long with beach bars, hammocks to rent and plenty of parking. There are
also various water sports in the area.
Torrelamata beach has many attractions for diving and water sports. The beach is
ideal for the family as it has many services. The beach is always very clean and
there are lifeguards for your security. The water has a wonderful blue color and
is crystal clear. This beach has special facilities for the handicapped, parking,
showers, cleaning service, waste bins, public phones and restaurants.
Playa de los Naufragos beach is one of the most popular due to its wide range of
bars, restaurants and water sports. Once again this beach has clear water, soft sand
and because of the South Dike at the harbour has very few waves.
The Marina de las Dunas at the mouth of the river offers all these as well as 498
moorings. Located at the mouth of the river Segura, in a unique natural environment
on the eastern coast of Spain it has all the services and facilities of a top-ranking
marina. It also offers 2 kilometers of the new navigable river course for small boats,
a risk-free place for sea sports.
Both the Guardamar and Pineda beaches are composed of the finest white sand and are
surrounded by pine, palm and eucalyptus trees. The beaches run for as far as the
eye can see. Swept during the season on a daily plus basis, the Guardamar beach is
possibly one of the best manicured in all Spain. Guardamar offers you every possible
sea sport such as sailing, windsurfing, water-skiing, underwater diving, canoeing,
jet skiing, etc.
Hortigues beach is ideal if you love quiet areas and naturally beautiful views. The
beach is surrounded by sand hills and vegetation.
Los Locos Beach, also called El Salaret beach is 1 Km long and has very few waves
due to the natural rock formations leaving crystal clear water and soft golden sand.
Towards the north, the environment becomes marked by a succession of small coves
that spread up to Cabo Cervera. This part of the beach has been adapted for persons
of limited mobility. This beach has parking, Red Cross, lifeguard and special handicapped
person’s facilities, ice-cream stand, newsstand, restaurants, bus stop, promenade;
public phones. You can practice Windsurfing, watercycles, water tube and water parachuting.
Cabo Cervera beach is the middle point between the long vast beaches of the South
and the rocky beaches of the North.
